Italian author Natalie Ginzburg (July 14,1919 - October 07,1991) celebrated her birthday on this day and was owned by two Siamese cats too! Ginzburg was a novelist, essayist, translator and playwright, who has written of her unconventional family and its opposition in Turin to Fascist oppression. Ginzburg’s novels are a mixture of reminiscence, observation, and invention. Much of her fiction is written in the first person in a plain style, and constructed almost entirely of dialogue. She published her first novel under the pseudonym Alessandra Torninparte.Among her novels (dates are for English translations) are ‘The Road to the City’ (1949), 'All Our Yesterdays’ (1956), 'A Light for Fools’ (1957), 'Voices in the Evening’ (1963), 'No Way’ (1974), and 'The City and the House’ (1985).(via Southern-California-Siamese-Rescue) -- source link
