meandmybentley: With an exterior of an 1903 Federation convent, complemented by a new angular white ceramic brick, steel and glass extension, designed to reference the neighbouring brutalist architecture, @littlealbionguesthouse in Sydney’s vibrant Surry Hills is equals parts eccentric, eclectic and emphatic. With interiors by local-based firms @spacecontroldesign and Archemy, and architecture by @ty.architecture and @shedarchitecture, the hotel comprises of 35 whimsically sophisticated guest rooms, each boasting a unique symphony orchestrated by bold patterns, lively palettes and luscious textures. Upon first glance Little Albion may appear the work of multiple designers working from various iterations of the same brief, however, that is exactly were the beauty lies. Meandering through the hotel’s rooms, lobby and common spaces there is an instant appreciation for the incredible detail and consideration that has gone into creating such a harmonious aesthetic from such brazen decisions. Not a single nook, fixture, screw or bulb has been overlooked or ignored. Visually, this is certainly no easy feat, but thankfully, one that has paid tenfold.
