archatlas: Brothers Grimm’s Fabulous Germany Kilian Schönberger The series is inspired by old fairy tales and legends written by authors like the Brothers Grimm. Therefore I was searching places throughout Central Europe that echo the mood of those old stories. I think there is a deep longing for tranquil naturalness among people in our technology-driven environment. Therefore I don’t want to show just portrayals of natural scenes - I want to create visually accessible places where the visitor can virtually put his mind at rest and make up his own stories. After driving 45,000 miles throughout Germany during the last twelve months I’ve finished the collection of photos for a coffee-table book called “Sagenhaftes Deutschland” (Fabulous Germany) that was released by the German publishing house “Frederking & Thaler” by the end of November. This book sums up what started as the “Brothers Grimm’s Homeland” project over a year ago. Printed on paper the photos become even more related to the old fairytales. It’s like a visual stroll through the images we had on our mind while listening to these old stories during our childhood.Check out a previous photoset from this series Brothers Grimms’ Homeland Images and text via kilianschoenberger -- source link
