archiemcphee: The list of things we want to do when we visit Japan gets longer all the time, but visiting the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo has always been one of our priorities. Or at least it was until Japanese artist and dedicated Ghibli fan Takumi envisioned this awesome theme park which he calls “Tokyo Ghibli Land.” Now we can’t stop wishing this phenomenal park will one day become a reality. It’s such an impressively thorough celebration of all things Ghibli. There’s an attraction for every movie and series you’ve ever seen, and probably some you haven’t heard of before. The big question is, what would you do first? Take a ride on the Laputa: Castle in the Sky roller coaster, get a room at the Hotel Adriano from Porco Rosso, go for a steam at the Aburaya Bathhouse or gorge yourself at the food stalls from Spirited Away, explore a miniature wilderness full of the creatures from Princess Mononoke, or perhaps take a ride on the Sea of Decay Cruise from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind? And those are only a scant few of your options. But wait, don’t forget that these rides and attractions are all connected by a Catbus monorail. So much awesomeness and yet Takumi isn’t finished with this amazing concept:“Tokyo Ghibli Land is finished. Next up, I’m gonna design the food menus and merchandise.”Head over to RocketNews24 for additional images and more detailed description of all the entertainment available in Takumi’s concept for Tokyo Ghibli Land. Meanwhile we’ll be at the nearest fountain throwing in pennies and making wishes for this dream to come true.[via RocketNews24] -- source link
