{Andre Fu’s firm is one of my favourites coming out of Asia right now. He recently completed the Opus Suite at the Berkeley Hotel in London, and it has me totally inspired and wishing I could spend a few nights just to soak in all the luxury (and the design details). The suite comes with its own dining room, study, bronze island kitchen, and a limestone-clad, spa-style bathroom. Walls are lined in bamboo and woods in rich light browns and golds; details, such as chandeliers, door handles and wall-corners, are hewn from hand-polished brass. To get the sort of symmetry and precision demanded by Fu for The Opus Suite, everything had to be made to measure – from ceilings artificially lowered to hide air-conditioning to sculptures and artwork. Fu stresses that it is more about how it feels through the quality of the materials, the bespoke furniture and lighting. The ultimate value of hospitality now is in giving the guest a place where they feel really comfortable.} -- source link
