{While I don’t consider myself a comic geek, I remember having been very much in love with the world of Batman ever since I was a kid. I just had to check out Fox’s interpretation of Gotham for the small screen. If you’ve been following for some time now, you should now my love for production and set design as well. Designed by production designer Doug Kraner and set decorators Regina Graves (pilot) and Andrew Baseman, some of the standout sets are Wayne Manor and the 30s style Art Deco glam penthouse of Detective Gordon’s girlfriend Barbara Keane. Sometimes the cityscapes read a little too faux, and there’s a bit of a Tim Burton-esque quality to some of the art design that occasionally distracts, but you’ll never stop looking around the frame and you can’t escape the moodiness of the visuals. Check out Architectural Digest’s article about the show’s sets.} -- source link
