{Envisioned by French designer Gwenael Nicolas and his multidisciplinary studio, Curiosity, the Fendi store in London’s New Bond Street’s architectural concept seamlessly mixes leather, stone, and textiles in a calming color scheme with dynamic statement furnishings. Though the store retains its 19th-century façade, the ground floor introduces a serene modern palette of muted creams and gilded display cases. The simplicity of the space is accented by the dramatic Baguette Wall, where variations of Fendi’s cult bag appear to float amid 30,000 backlit bronze spikes. A spiral staircase in travertine, perhaps a gesture to Fendi’s Roman roots, leads to the women’s ready-to-wear collection, which overlooks New Bond Street through windows framed by exposed brickwork—an unexpectedly raw touch. Across a small landing, Fendi furs in lustrous colors pop against gleaming black-and-gold-lacquered walls. Menswear is housed on the lower level, showcased among dark wood paneling and stone surfaces. At the base of the staircase, two Marc Newson Felt chairs sit next to a towering chandelier that stretches through all three floors. With 5,600 pieces of rectangular Murano glass in shades of blue and gray, it is perhaps this object that best captures the spirit of a brand, and a boutique, that is all about the details.} -- source link
