This is the hardest question ever, there’s to many amazing brands to choose from. I’m going to have to go with Elle Macpherson Intimates as my favourite commerical lingerie brand. Being a bigger busted lady I have the worst luck finding feminine and delicate looking bras. Plus they need to be super comfy and affordable (hello starving fashion student life). Bra shopping used to be horrible until I discovered Elle Macpherson. I used to cry because nothing pretty ever fitted my 32F bust..which may I add I’ve had since I was 16 ( rather traumatising for a teenager). I used to have to make sure I went bra shopping on days when I was feeling particularly emotionally strong so that the shop ladies at Myers wouldn’t have to listen to me cursing from my changing stall. Panties are another story, I could shop for panties happily until the cows came home. But bras…bra shopping was hell. Before Elle I was really self conscience about my cup size. I always wished for smaller boobies so I could wear all the dainty bras. I would hide them when I wore clothing, a lot of my girlfriends didn’t even know I had a fuller bust until I told them, let alone know I was self conscience about them. You always want what ya don’t have, isn’t that just life in a nutshell. Elle changed my life. Her bras are feminine, dainty, delicate, comfy, affordable and great quality. Could you ask for anymore? After buying my first Elle bra, I havn’t looked back. Her bras made me feel confident about my bust size, feminine and sexy. I have the Elle Macpherson Dentelle underwire bra in three different colours. I am a loyal dog. Her panties are pretty fabulous too. How long have you been collecting? I’ve been collecting for a few years now. I started off just picking up random vintage pieces for op shops. Beautiful 50s & 60s girdles and bustiers were my favourite and I’ve always been obsessed with vintage Vanity Fair slips. I’d sometimes re-invent the pieces, get a little fashionista on them. Dye them funky colours, add lace or beading to them. I now prefer to just bask in they’re original beauty. Always love finding a box of vintage seamed nylons. Recently I’ve moved onto independent and handmade labels. I absolutely adore handmade lingerie. I love my Miss Crofton knickers handmade all the way in London. When I have a little more money I’ll add to my collection. I have my eye on some Lonely Lingerie, Hatsumi’s Laundry and Hopeless of course. Luckily I’m pretty handy with a sewing machine so I like making my own pieces to add to my collection. What is your favourite piece of lingerie? At the moment I’m obsessed with my ‘Fuego’ silk top by The Loved One. It’s so beautifully handmade in the USA. I like wearing it as an under piece and an outer piece.
