{My favourite part of this day spa are those entrances to the treatment rooms - first photo. Designed by KdnD studio LLP.} The conventional look n feel of a spa always attempts a south east Asian flavour. Due to the brand positioning as well as the aesthetically stance taken, there was a conscious effort to steer away from the obvious. The look attempted was to create an ambiance catering more to a European day spa with hotelier facilities. The layout of the spa has been simply segregated with the more public functions like waiting, gallery and meditation spaces on the lower level with the individual massage therapy rooms located at the upper level. Focus on texture and lighting helps to create an environment which appeals to the six senses and accentuates the feeling of getting pampered; the essence of visiting a day spa! Use of screens in form of wood or shear fabrics help to segregate spaces without compromising on the fluidity of the space. The ‘hamman’ room, is first of it’s kind in the city. It’s yellow textured Walls and floating stone bed in centre framed with mosaic arch as backdrop is reminiscent of the Turkish baths. -- source link
