{It was Rachel Ashwell who sort of pioneered this whole “Shabby Chic” decorating style in the first place. I think it got really big around the 80s and 90s. Her home (featured here) is an excellent epitome of the aesthetic of the style, and of her brand: eclectic, romantic, casual, bohemian, light, and effortless. It’s a very lived-in look that is forgiving for a lot of people. I love the pastels in the master bedroom, as well as the marble dado in the bathroom.
