thingswithantlers:Horseshoe Crabs by Dave W.Seeing the Horseshoe Crabs coming ashore during the spring migration of shorebirds along Delaware Bay was one of the highlights of my travels this year. The crabs’ eggs are an important source of food for the shorebirds refueling for their flights to the north. It isn’t unusual for the crabs to get turned over by a wave. They can usually get back over with another wave or two. We were along the coast after a strong storm and a lot of the crabs were stranded in rocks or up on roads. I assisted quite a few of them in getting back to the water. These two were not posed. -- source link
