raficha: kura-art-dump: Why did invest time into a joke not very many will get? I mean… I guess I can amuse myself anyway. (I needed to doodle something silly as the current scene I’m working on for the comic is kinda a downer) @kura-art-dump I’m going to explain the myth so people can get the joke here: Seth was the evil brother that envied Osiris. He had this strong desire to kill his brother and rule in his place. So with the help of some allies, Seth put in the works a plan to get rid of Osiris. He decided to throw the greatest party that had yet been seen in Egypt, with great wine, food, music, dancers… everything to please his brother. In the middle of the party, a beautiful chest made by our host with the rarest and most cost materials was brought in. Seth, that preciously got the exact measurements of Osiris, said: “I will give this chest to whosoever fits it”. Mesmerized by the beauty of the chest, Osiris got excited to try the “game”. Osiris laid himself down in the chest and very happy said: ”I fit, it’s mine!”. “It is yours indeed, and shall be so forever!” hissed Seth, locking Osiris inside. Later, Seth and his companions took the chest which held the body and cast it into the Nile. Even going into a different direction from the original story, this comic is absolutely great! I was laughing at the point of crying the first time I read it! What an awesome idea! -- source link
