Archaeological Museum of PatraMosaic floor with a hunting scene and geometric decoration.From a room of a Roman villa in Patras. The villa had an atrium with a central basin and fountain. Part of the mosaic was destroyed by the construction of a later building, probably during Byzantine times.In the central part of mosaic floor, a hunting scene in a forest is surrounded by guilloche pattern. We can read the names of the hunters and their animals. The quary consists of a wild boar (above) and a hare (below).The scene is surrounded by rectangular and square intersections, decorated with different geometric patterns. The total size of the mosaic is 72,25m2 and it is one of the largest found in Patras.
