lamus-dworski:Mazurek* - a type of an Easter cake from Poland. It’s typically thin and very sweet: prepared of a special shortcut pastry (sometimes unsweetened or semi-sweet), covered in various dense and very sweet coatings, and decorated for example with nuts, dried fruits, icing, chocolate, or other toppings. The decorations are usually Easter- or spring-themed. Mazurek should be rectangular in shape (sometimes with slightly higher decorative edges), and can come in countless different tastes, depending on what the family likes. Inventing a new interesting coating for mazurek is often a matter of a competition within some families :)Below are links to sources of the photographs that include also recipes in Polish (I found a few similar recipes also in English, linked as well):mazurek with rose petal cream / via z wyczuciem smaku [here’s a similar recipe in English]with cherries and chocolate / via mała cukierenkawith marzipan and white chocolate / via moje wypiekiwith toffee / via przy kubku kawywith dulce de leche / via kuchenne wspomnienia [recipe in English]with chocolate / via cafe babilon [recipe in English]with oranges / via kwestia smaku [recipe in English]with coffee mousee and cherries / via gotujmywith plum jam and meringue / via z pamiętnika piekarnikawith chocolate and sezame creams / via zdrove karme love*Not to be confused with Mazurek the dance (one of the 5 main national dances of Poland) - both are a diminutive word coming from the name Mazur (an ethnic Polish group).[please don’t remove the caption when reblogging] -- source link
