I was standing on a hill yesterday, looking across at the valley as it was swallowed by a wall of rain. After the rain engulfed me I turned around and realized that my town, which was only a stone’s throw away, had vanished too. I stood for a moment longer. Out of the grey, little hovering lights began turning on - and like a connect-the-dots picture, suddenly I could see the town again. It felt very much like the moment in Ponyo when Sōsuke’s dad wakes up from the storm and spies a “city” on the horizon.Anyway, I didn’t have a camera, so I painted it (and gave myself a cloak and shield ;D). -- source link
