noceans:flareAdorno wrote in Minima Moralia: 'Every artwork is an uncommitted crime’. NO. Every artwork which hopes to challenge the domination of the spectacle must already be a crime. It must pose a challenge to the ideology of legality (read management) which govern late capitalist social relations. But it must also challenge the ‘aesthetic of rebellion’, the commodified form into which radical (anti-)art works are recuperated today. We are both artists and criminals, and if one does not imply the other then they are both equally meaningless. -- source link
