The evergreens in Michigan have always been my favorite. Though their show is minimal through the seasons they are always standing beautiful and strong. I always find it interesting to watch them closely through the seasons. How they look after the first snow. How they look after a spring rain vs a fall rain. They shift and feel differently if we are aware enough. My favorite though is how they fill the air this time of year. As the leaves fall everywhere around us it is as if they are coming into their prime.
