Travels With Felix: Don’t Forget to Write Home!Felix T. Smith was a merchant seaman who grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During his time as a merchant seaman in the 1930s, he often wrote back to his family in Milwaukee about his travels abroad, sending them letters and postcards galore. This particular postcard from 1937 shows the Seamen’s House in New York City, where Felix and his fellow seamen would stay as they waited to catch a ship. Stay tuned for more #TravelsWithFelix as we share some of our favorite postcards from the collection. This postcard can be found in the Felix T. Smith Papers (call number Milw SC 183) at the UWM Archives.-Lizzie -- source link
