inspired by @katiecrewe and @laurenelizabeth ’s recent posts: the most you can do, for things you can control, is to remain accountable and dedicated to your passions. ❄️ thus far into the break, training on my own/with my brother isn’t the same as training with the team at school. i don’t feel like I’m being pushed as much - i try to break my own psychological barriers, but it’s hard to make that exciting and not pointless. ❄️ certain areas of my performance are not improving as i’d planned, and in some cases, i can’t even keep up with the weights i smashed two weeks ago. ❄️ i was ambitious, coming into the break and upping my hours of training per week, but maybe now it’s my adrenaline-fueled, drunken in stress and sleepless month of finals catching up with my body. not to mention i might’ve been denying jet lag for the past four days (“it can’t happen to me!” sound familiar?) … ❄️ all i know is that i’m trying my best right now, and in moments of doubt - of physical ability, potential, or of purpose, i remember [1] a change of environment and routine is hard for ANYONE - i’m definitely not alone in my training lows; and [2] in the grand scheme of things, i’m never alone - i can communicate with God whenever i want, and He’ll find ways of getting to me, taking care of me, even when i want to be left alone. ❄️ if that wasn’t relatable, take this away with you: if you get tired, learn to rest (or, in terms of training, not beat yourself up for beating PRs), not to quit. -- source link
