unstable-time-loop:zenny-spice:2xdinosaurs:lambency:3gokei:boozledorf:courtanie:sugarblaster:therealbitchpudding:what a huge dumbassdo you know how much it costs to get taken to the ER in a fucking ambulanceabout a full years worth of rentso fuck you, fuck you Mitt, go take a cactus and shove it up your ass repeatedly you big fucking dickbag privileged piece of shitThis idiot. Ugh. I got a $400 dollar emergency room bill (when I was 19) for just WALKING INTO THE DAMN PLACE (literally, walking, on my own two feet). I wasn’t even hurt! All they did was ask me some questions and check my blood pressure, as I had just been in a car accident.Clearly Mitt Romney has NO IDEA how emergency rooms work and why relying on them for PRIMARY CARE is the ABSOLUTE WORST THING EVER. FREE CARE?!When I was in my car accident, my knee was pretty bruised up and I had a hell of a time walking and I had back pain for weeks, but I REFUSED to get in an ambulance at the time because SITTING IN THE FUCKING THING COSTS OVER $1200. That’s just SITTING THERE. If they don’t even talk to you or check your temperature, you’re STILL paying for it. WITHOUT EVEN GOING TO THE HOSPITAL.This ass needs to get in a car crash, sit in the ambulance, and then tell the paramedics “oh thank god you guys won’t charge me for this, lol.” I’d LOVE to see their faces. But the real bitch of it is that he wouldn’t pay a cent, because his health insurance is so fucking high level that they’ll cover everythingi’m maduuugh yeah. My car crash, I didn’t have a say so on the ambulance but all five of us had to be taken away. Bruce and I were in one together and I was charged like 10,000 for being shoved in the corner with a neck brace. Bruce was charged something like 20k because they had to give him an IV and he had a broken leg, face, arm, spleen, and partially collapsed lung. I was uninsured and they didn’t MRI or x-ray my back when I complained of pain. So over time, my spine just got worse and worse to where it is now with my nerve tissue damaged and my spinal disks pinching together which will now cost me 30-60K to fix. ugh just ugh.Everyone who have been hurt or are in debt from hospitals, I just want to hug you and hope everything will get and be better. When I sliced my finger open cleaning after my fish, I went to the emergency room my damn self. I basically walked out with the equivalent of a band-aid and that shit cost me a couple hundred dollars out of pocket. And you know what? There are folks out there who have had WAY worse ER experiences than I did, and I feel terribly just thinking about all of the things they have to go through. My $200 sucks, but it’s nothing compared to the thousands some people have to pay for ER fees. Free health care through the ER? Uh, no. Fuck you, Romney.I’m going to keep rebloging this, because the more people that know how much of a asshole this guy is maybe people won’t vote for himI work in the medical field. Specifically, I’m a Radiographic Technologist. I take x-rays and CT scans. At the hospital I work at, a CT scan of your head (which is standard for head injuries or possible strokes) will cost you about $2,500. A scan of your abdomen (to see if you have appendicitis) can cost you up to $6,000. Let’s say that you broke your ankle and had to have surgery to insert some pins. Between the ER fees, the x-rays, anesthesia, recovery time and everything else, you’re looking at a minimum bill of $40,000.How many people have that kind of money just laying around? And what about if something is severely wrong? What if you have something that requires regular care? Can someone with cancer just walk in to the ER on a regular basis for chemo treatments? No, they can’tERs are meant for emergencies. People should not have to go to them for things like a simple bladder infection. It clogs up the system and slows everything down in a hospital. I’ve seen it happen. I’ve been there on busy nights where the ER is full, the waiting room is packed, and people just keep pouring in. I’ve seen people wait for over three hours to get into the ER.Many of them do it because they have nowhere else to go, because they are uninsured. This is wrong. It’s wrong that these people can’t get the care that they need and are forced to pay high bills that can easily bankrupt them. It’s wrong because it delays people with real emergencies from getting prompt care. It’s wrong because it means hospital staff are often overworked and stressed out. I’ve had nights where I was on my feet and moving (running to different departments for portable exams, getting patients to and from the exam table, moving heavy equipment) for 12 hours straight with no breaks and no lunch. So fuck you, Mitt Romney.Fuck you on behalf of the poor and uninsured.Fuck you on behalf of the people who had to wait longer than they should have for care because the ER is full of people who had nowhere else to go.And fuck you on behalf of the doctors, nurses, techs, and everyone else who works in hospitals around this country. What unstable-time-loop said. -- source link
