Extremely Rare Two Shot Dutch Ivory Wendel Flintlock Pistols,Produced during the late 1600’s these magnificent Dutch flintlock pistols are perhaps among the most unique antique firearms items on the market.  Made from two pieces of ivory, the pistols feature a carved relief Turks head pommel with turban and jewelry.  However, perhaps its most interesting feature was its two shot “Wendel” design.  The pistol had two barrels, one on top of the other and each having a separate flashpan.  When the first shot was fired, the user would twist the barrels 180 degrees, aligning the next loaded barrel into place.These pistols are exceedingly rare, again less than 100 have been identified and documented as authentic.The pair pictured above sold at auction for $17,000 with a $3,315 buyers premium. -- source link
