This is how all corsets start out. Not that impressive to look at really, but it’s actually the hardest and most tedious part! Each panel needs to be shaped perfectly to the wearer and cut to the very nanometer. If you’re even 1mm out, with 14 panels, you end up with a 2.8cm error! Which can be the difference, in a garment this tight, between perfection and discomfort. In this way, corsetry is as delicate an art form as origami… And no one likes a wonky crane! -- source link
