Anon this request is so flippin’ cute, thank you so so much! Merry Christmas my ducklings, I hope that you all have a restful, happy and healthy holiday. Unfortunately, I have Covid :( but, I’m gonna be alright! I’m resting good and dreaming of Theo cuddles to get me through ^^- JJ x~~~~~~~~~~Theodorus van Gogh:Two little sets of feet padded down the long corridor of le Comte’s mansion in the early hours of Christmas morning as the sun began to rise over Paris somewhere outside. Three year old Lovisa held onto her older sister Annelies’ hand tightly, her other hand busy gently holding up the skirt of her nightgown that was adorably too long for her whilst seven year old Annelies grinned uncontrollably. The two van Gogh girls reached their uncle’s bedroom and quietly opened the door, alerting their best friend King who bounded out of Vincent’s room towards the children with just as much energy as he had when he was a puppy. “Goedemorgen, King,” Annelies smiled sweetly at the happy dog, giggling when he began to enthusiastically lick her hand as she tried to stroke his golden fur, “Merry Christmas, boy!”“King!” Lovisa babbled excitedly as she toddled over to the dog and patted him carefully with her tiny little hands, “Kerstmis!” The trio continued the journey towards the parlour with the girls giggling all the way while King’s tail couldn’t seem to stop wagging - well that was until they heard a husky, familiar voice call out from behind them, “What do we have here? Did you wake my girls up, King?” Theo smiled fondly down at his daughters and pet, his caramelly brown hair messy and his ice blue eyes soft with affection, “Or were you hoping to catch Sinterklaas leaving your presents?”“Papa!” The younger of Theo’s daughters waddled towards him, her chubby-cheeked smile warming his heart when she wrapped her short arms around his muscular calf, “Papa, Kerstmis!” Lovisa giggled sweetly as her father bent down and scooped her up into his arms, rocking her like she were still a newborn,“Is it really, mijn popje? Annelies did you know it was Christmas today?” Theo’s gaze found his elder daughter who sighed a little, going along with his playful sarcasm,“I had no idea!” The three van Goghs all chuckled at the exchange as they finished the short walk to the parlour where there stood an impossibly tall christmas tree adorned with bright red ribbons, candles and glistening strings of beads. MC was sat on the sofa, quietly enjoying her cup of coffee when her family entered, a bright smile spreading across her pretty face when she saw the three of them, “Good morning you three.”“Mama!” Lovisa’s expression brightened when she saw her mother before she began to toddle-run towards MC, clambering up into her lap once she made it to the settee, “Happy Christmas, Mama.” The toddler looked up expectantly at her mother and stuck her thumb in her mouth to suck it contendly. MC circled her arms around her youngest daughter and smiled sweetly down at her, grinning when Theodorus sat down beside her and slipped one of his strong arms around her waist, “Merry Christmas, Lovisa,” she gazed over to Annelies, who was sat underneath the christmas tree looking excitedly over the gifts, “Merry Christmas, Annelies. Are you excited for your presents?”“Mhm!” The seven year old nodded enthusiastically, picking up a large, neatly wrapped parcel and holding it out towards her parents slightly, “Please please can I open one before breakfast?”“Oh I don’t know, popje,” Theo hummed lowly though, he smiled kindly at his daughter, his large hand finding Lovisa’s soft syrup brown hair and stroking it carefully, “Do you think we should open presents before breakfast, mijn kleine prinses?” The three year old blinked up at her father, thinking for a moment before she nodded happily and slipped out of MC’s arms and onto the floor, crawling towards the decorated tree. The art dealer nodded, chuckling warmly as he watched his precious girls and pulled his wife closer into his loving embrace, “Alright, alright. You can both open one each and then we’ll save the rest for this afternoon.”“Yay!” Both of the girls cheered excitedly, wasting no time before the pair of them began to rummage around underneath the tree in search of gifts with their names on the labels. Lovisa found herself clutching a soft present wrapped neatly in brown paper and adorned with blue ribbons and Annelies held onto a larger, mostly rectangular gift. The younger of the two girls toddled her way back to her parents, holding the parcel tightly against her torso, and offering out to her mother when she reached them, “Mama help to open?” MC nodded and gently took the present, effortlessly untying the silky ribbons which let the paper fall away to reveal a small, plush toy cow. Lovisa gasped with delight and took the stuffed toy into her arms, hugging it tightly as she giggled, “Een koe, Papa!” The toddler held out the toy towards her father who chuckled fondly and patted the little cow’s head,“That’s right, schatje.” The handsome art dealer nodded, turning his head towards MC and kissing her cheek tenderly, smirking against her skin as she blushed. Theo raised his head to watch Annelies who was impatiently opening her own present, “What did Sinterklaas leave for you, Annelies?”The older child grinned down at her unveiled gift - Some canvases, good quality paint brushes and a few tubes of oil paints, “Painting tools, Papa.” There was awe on Annelies’ face as she gently took the box of paints into her hands and fawned over the colours before she rushed over to Theo and jumped into his arms, a small ‘oof’ leaving his lips, “Oh, thank you!”MC and Theo grinned at each other, both hugging Annelies close to them and welcoming Lovisa into the family cuddle when she toddled over with King, the loyal dog curling up at their feet. The van Goghs stayed there for a little while, just feeling warm and loved as a family, only breaking apart when Theodorus stood up, offering MC his hand to help her stand too, “It’s breakfast time. C’mon, we can have more presents after we have some pancakes.”In the evening, once everyone had enjoyed their Christmas dinner, opened their gifts and their two girls were in bed, Theo and MC were sat in front of the fireplace together, snuggled up on the sofa with a cup of hot chocolate each. The Dutchman absentmindedly stroked his wife’s hair, smiling gently at the way she sighed softly and leaned into his touch, “Today has been perfect, Theo.” MC shifted in her seat, adjusting herself against Theo’s chest so she could softly trace the toned muscles that lay underneath his shirt, “You’re such a wonderful father.”“With little treasures like our’s, it’d be hard not to spoil them silly,” he chuckled warmly, his heart full as he carefully kissed MC’s hair and took her chin between forefinger and thumb to lift her gaze tenderly. He continued, his voice barely above a whisper, “I wouldn’t mind having another one.” There was an almost impishly cheeky grin on his handsome face when he noticed his darling wife’s pink blush and raised eyebrows, “Wat zeg jij? Geef je me nog een baby?“ Theo’s tone had changed - it was suggestive now, forward but it still held that true air of tenderness and all of the affection in his heart - and he smirked. MC nodded happily, her quiet ‘Yes’ barely heard as she became overwhelmed with love and reached up to kiss Theo’s smirking lips, melting once again into his arms as he held her like she was the most precious jewel in all of France. The art dealer broke their fervent kisses for just a moment to tuck her hair behind her ear sweetly, “Vrolijk Kerstfeest, MC.” -- source link
