houseofhaleth: The sun picked out silver highlights in Gwindor’s hair, as he slept with his head in her lap – she stroked her fingers through the warm length of it, occasionally letting her fingertips brush his worn face, but he didn’t stir – he was the picture of peace. Leaning back slightly, she felt Adanedhel adjust his arm around her waist, and she closed her eyes against the green spring day to focus on the feel of them – Gwindor’s chest moving up and down beneath her hand, Adanedhel sighing gently as he pulled her a little closer, the fabric of his shirt and the smell of him as she leant her head on his shoulder, and the gentle pressure on the top of her head as he laid his head on hers. In peace beneath the trees, in the patchwork sunlight and the song of the river, Finduilas, eyes still closed, felt she had all she wanted in the world. -- source link
