Jabberwocky, by Terry Gilliam (1977)“A medieval misadventure from the co-director of Monty Python and the Holy Grail”***When my dad was in the army, they’ve had something like a movie night. A commander would rent a movie and the company watched it as sort of relaxation time. My dad and few of his fellows were in charge of serving drinks, beer and food for the event, so they were too occupied to watch. Usually they were allowed to watch it the night before. And one time, commander rented this particular film, pictures above. My dad and his fellow buddies made some drinks for themselves and sat comfortably. They pressed play. And here they were - after the movie ended - drinks intact and still in hand, and with their mouth agape.Next night, the company gathered. They got their drinks and food, and sat comfortably. And then proceeded to watch. And here they were - after the movie ended - all the drinks still in hand, and all the mouths wide open.20 years later. I got off from my matura’ history exam and I went with my dad to rent some film to relax. I found the dvd with this, by then ‘legendary’ movie. We got home, I got my dinner plate (very bad idea) and we sat comfortably. And here I was - after the movie ended - with my fork still halfway to my wide open mouth, the plate full and cold, and my dad laughning gleefully at me.All because of this little opening scene:[Trigger warning: I have yet to see a horror/gore movie top this scene]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKDxK7nNE0AThat was propably the weirdest and most absurd movie I have seen to this date. -- source link
