Despite Louise Jameson stating that this was one of her favourite stories, she continued to be dissatisfied with the direction of her character of Leela.In one draft, Leela was going to be killed off at the climax of this story. They decided against this because they felt it was inappropriate to have the Doctor grieving the death, and more inappropriate for him to not grieve at all. -- source link
