The Hafdasa C4,An Argentinian submachine gun, the Hafdasa C4 is chambered for 9mm and .45acp. Designed in 1938 and produced during World War II, the C4 came with either a fixed wooden stock or a foldout wire stock and used a very wide 50 round doublestack (40 round for .45acp), double column box magazine. When one column is empty a mechanism will automatically feed from the next. It used a blowback open bolt design, but perhaps it most curious feature was an aluminum receiver. Most amazingly, the design has an incredible rate of fire at 900 rounds per minute, which outperformed all other machine guns of its time. It was also very reliable, accurate, and easy to control despite its high rate of fire. Originally designed for tanks crews and paratroopers, it would not see much combat as Argentina was not a major player in World War II. -- source link
