augustdementhe:arsanatomica:Okay….I am a huge fan of creature design based on actual biology.@crystelland is a 3D creature artist. She’s working on interesting Cerberus design with multiple rows of teeth. It’s really neat because there’s an actual dental condition that’s like this. Most of us are familiar with the idea that sharks and have multiple rows of teeth. Mammals can get a condition called Persistent Deciduous Teeth. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Your baby teeth don’t fall out and your adult teeth grow in right next to them, leading you to have two rows of teeth. It happens in people sometimes and is usually fixed by the dentist. But it’s really common in small breed dogs because selective breeding has radically changed the shape of their skulls.First pic is my drawing, second pic is Crystel’s sculpture that she’s working on.Other places to see my stuff:INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK / ETSYI learned something today. -- source link
