The Rare and Bizarre Charles E. Snyder Two Cylinder Revolver,A bizarre creation of Charles E. Snyder
The Rare and Bizarre Charles E. Snyder Two Cylinder Revolver,A bizarre creation of Charles E. Snyder of Baltimore Maryland, his strange revolver featured two cylinders holding a total of fourteen shots. Chamber for .22 rimfire, the rear cylinder faced towards the user while the forward cylinder faced forward. An elongated firing pin attached to the hammer and running through the top of the frame discharged rounds in the forward cylinder. When the forward cylinder was empty, the user then just rotated the cylinder mechanism so that the rear cylinder is then facing forward. For loading the barrel pivots downward to allow removal of both cylinders. Production started in the mid 1860’s and lasted until 1870. It is unknown how many of the bizarre pistols Snyder produced, but they are extremely rare, possibly less than 100 were made. -- source link
