1withthem:Yeong Woo had been in a North Korean prison four times before he was 22. The first time he was caught in an early morning prayer meeting in China - he was arrested and sent back to North Korea. He experienced and saw some pretty dark things. But today, he sees God was with him throughout his story. His last stay in prison came to a swift end when one of the guards turned out to be an old school friend who helped secure an early release.Yeong Woo fled to South Korea, where the pain of his time in prison was still real. He couldn’t connect with church and fell into drinking and gambling. One day, something changed. Yeong Woo prayed his first true prayer since arriving in South Korea.“I lifted my hands to the sky and prayed out loud.”And God answered him more clearly than every before. “Yeong Woo, I never abandoned you.” Yeong Woo knew God loved him. The words pierced him like a sword. He wanted to teach others of this love. He is now a pastor, and looking back on his life, sees God’s hand everywhere.Father, thank You for Yeong Woo. Use him to bring many to know Your love. Be with those in prison in North Korea today. Let them know Your loving presence. Give them hope. May they deeply know You will never abandon them. Amen. -- source link
