Elin Erlandsson, 1953, Sweden. The photo was published in a local paper with the following text (translated):Vacationing housewives praise Fagerudd. Mrs. Elin Erlandsson from Enköping is one of the many housewives who get a much-needed rest in the county council’s holiday and convalescent home in Fagerudd. On the stairs to the cafeteria, Elin Erlandsson sits and waits for a car. Next to her are suitcases and in her arms she holds wildflowers that she picked during a farewell stroll in the park. “Here it is so blissfully wonderful that I do not want to go home,” she says, appealing to the home’s manager Svea Jonsson. “I have been awake all night. Normally I will sleep like a log. It’s a bit of travel fever… it’s a whole seven kilometers back to Enköping, you should know. But mostly I pondered that my holiday is now over. It has gone so fast! I have eaten and rested, talked and laughed, and had good company all day long. I will come again next summer for certain, if I keep my health.” -- source link
