indramania: “it’s great that you do see a character that is not just ancillary. She has her own agency, makes her own decisions that are not just reactionary, but at the same time, instead of that taking away from the authenticity of her relationship with Jimmy, I think it underlines it, it magnifies it. She’s there by choice, not by need. The two of them really get a lot from each other. It is a symbiotic relationship and they are transparent in their negotiation of the difficulties of being together. They negotiate that from a very real perspective and pov. She’s mysterious, silent, a very observant person, less quick to react than a lot of the other characters, particularly Jimmy. Which is a fun thing, switching that stereotype of the male-female archetype, she is less kind of reactionary and emotional, more pragmatic. I love that evolution of you seeing that her choice to not speak is often a position of power. However, she has her own ego and ambition issues that she’s having to grapple with.I’m happy that they’re including that character as somebody that’s on the spectrum as far as ethics and morals, that whole grey area, it’s the most interesting place to live, and making sure all of the characters have to grapple with that in some way. Unfortunately, your compass will not always point north. It just depends on what direction you’re standing. She also offers Jimmy counsel without judgement, which he doesn’t really get from the rest of the people in his life”Rhea Seehorn about her character, Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul -- source link
