The room is darker than typical. You listen to the soft pitter-patter of rain drum against the old roof, echoing under the vaulted ceiling. You crane your neck, looking through the opening in the curtains you had hastily shut the night prior. Delicate raindrops paint your view of the grey clouds that blanket the sky.  You will yourself to get up but find you’ve already started pulling up the covers again. You had a few plans for the morning—nothing you couldn’t abandon given the right persuasion. The longer you remain in bed listening to the peaceful rain, the less you want to move.  Rainy days had always been a favorite of yours when you were younger. Staying in your pajamas or another comfy outfit, getting cozy with your favorite blanket, drinking tea, reading a book, working on a creative project—the possibilities on days like this were endless. Sometimes, you simply need time to rest and decompress. Rainy days were best for that.  His warmth beside you tempts you further. You want nothing more than to stay with him.
