Her festival at Brauron was held in the spring, and little girls, called arktoi (‘bears’) danced in honor of the Goddess, imitating bears.I’ve shown Her here in the saffron robe of the arktoi, as a young girl holding a brown bear cub. Behind Her are a laurel tree and willow branches, both trees sacred to Her.It’s not actually watercolor, but a pencil drawing scanned in then colored in in Photoshop using scanned in watercolor textures. I did it that way (I really do much prefer just painting, thanks) because transferring the pencil sketch with the light table wasn’t giving me the results I wanted. I’d like to figure out a way to just draw the sketch once and then paint directly on that.By request, as the Goddess art for April, as suggested over on my Patreon. -- source link
