The corsac fox (Vulpes corsac) inhabits the steppes and semi deserts of central Asia, where it can endure for long periods without food and water. It’s not an effective digger but needs a deep den to hide out from predators and blizzards. So it makes its dens in marmot burrows, sometimes living side-by-side with others in what are known as “corsac cities,” or even sharing a single den among several individuals. That’s not the only way in which the corsac fox is more social than other fox species: it’s also been observed to hunt in small packs.Photo: Cloudtail the Snow Leopard, CC BY-NC-ND 2.0, flickrhttps://www.instagram.com/p/CMRFf0ZAo7j/?igshid=qfk0h2xhhfxa -- source link
