“it would be in the cabal’s best interest to maintain a ceasefire — it would be in our interest, too.”“clever. was your plan solely a proposition to placate zavala’s ego and buy time for a proper counter-offensive?”“an interesting observation… were that true, would you have a contingency plan?”“i will. soon.”https://youtu.be/SlJvKoc2JDY?t=948i was innocently grinding some battlegrounds in search for my imperial needle god roll when game hit me with this dialogue. in that moment, three things became undeniably clear:1) saladin really needs to go to therapy before he lives long enough to see himself become the villain,2) he is a very bad influence on osiris, and3) the phoenix and the wolf.please don’t misunderstand, i am still very much into o14 - it’s the perfect kind of sweet pain. but right now? osiris is carrying So much guilt about what happened with saint and the infinite forest, on top of the emotional trauma of losing his best friend (and ending up mortal; you know, this reckless, smug, competent man who wants to do so much). and now he is working with saladin, a warmonger who seems so trapped in his nightmare. they both carry so much trauma. i was hoping during the course of the season that saladin would see some reason, that perhaps his association with osiris would help them both heal. that saladin would understand the cabal (and eliksni) we have the opportunity of working with today are not the same people who caused us so much hurt, and that unity is the only way for us to survive in the face of darkness. instead, saladin openly wearing his trauma and the hate born from it seems to be enabling osiris’ own darker feelings regarding everything that happened. crow has steadily rubbed off on amanda about friendship with cabal and eliksni, but on the other hand saladin and osiris are feeding off each other’s doubts and fears… i am excited but very anxious to see where this goes. these two have essentially been slowly plotting a coup against zavala/the vanguard as the season progressed… -- source link
