queenoftheantz:“Trust fall”Here it is! My small but oh so time consuming Iwaoi comic! As you may notice, I have experimented a bit with lineless art, colors and such. The theme isn’t exactly new for these two, but I felt that I have to start at the basics to get to know them! (I feel like I still have a bit left to a good characterization, but I’ll be getting there.) I hope you like it!You know… I’ll just reblog this with some thoughts I had while I drew it, because people seemed to like this comic a lot, and I while I wish these thoughts are obvious in the comic, I still feel like I need to speak them just in case. The most important thing I want to add is that Oikawa’s second fall was not for his own sake, but for Iwazumi’s. The whole thing point is that Oikawa needs to feel that it’s okay to rely on Iwa, that Iwa willingly is there for him. He doesn’t want to be a burden, but he also wants support. Iwazumi, on the other hand, wants Oikawa to rely on him. Of course for Oikawa’s sake, but ALSO for his own. He wants to feel that Oikawa think he is worthy of his trust, he wants to be assured that he really is someone to rely on. So when Oikawa falls the second time, it is not to “test” Iwazumi, or to get a second proof. He is already content, he now understand the situation. the fall is for Iwazumi, so HE will know that Oikawa does in fact trust him with his life. Of course it’s overly dramatic, but we all know that’s how Oikawa does things.That’s why there even is a second fall. It is to show that it’s not a one way relationship.Sorry if I’m just explaining the obvious, but this is an important part of the comic. :0 -- source link
