snowflakeeel:monitorchakas:snowflakeeel:aquadventure:snowflakeeel:The most dominant damsel does this to Noodle occasionally ???? She just hits noodle in the face with her tail ???? She never actually bites the eel and Noodle never fights back. I always thought that the eel would be the more dangerous one (she eats shrimp bigger than the damsels) but apparently damsel#1 runs the tank. Should I be more concerned about this? Like should I look into moving the damsels? They’ve lived in the same tank for years without any problems and they never do any actual damage to each otherFrom what I can tell, it’s a territorial display telling Noodle to scram. If it happens rarely and doesn’t stress Noodle out, they’re probably fine, but there are stories of aggressive damsels pestering tankmates to death. If Noodle built up the courage to snap at her, she would probably stop, but Noodle seems the gentle type, so you’ll have to watch out on her behalf That’s kinda what I was thinking as well thanks for the response! I’ll make sure to keep an eye on their interactions.Noodle is a sweetheart! I wish damselfish weren’t such sassy jerks, I would have beaugregories in my tank if they weren’t jerks.True story- when I was snorkeling once a damselfish (brown not sure which species there are a bunch of brown onesin the Atlantic) swam right into my leg I guess I was in its territory but this is a small fish like holy crab! They are super territorial and will fight anyone and anything!Yep they’re like the tiny/mean/yappy dogs of the sea. -- source link
