Women Passing a Warehouse, Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, 1972.The warehouse, near the Potomac Riverfront and subject to occasional flooding, has been repurposed as a restaurant with several different occupants over time including most recently a Starbux. Generally sandbagging of the doors has been adequate to keep the water out of the buildings when river flooding combines with high tide. Alexandria is at the upper limit of tidal variation on the Potomac. -- source link
