sciencesoup:Macro Reef DwellersThese spectacular macro photos capture seemingly foreign underwater worlds, in a shocking variety of colours. LA-based photographer Felix Salazar took these photos in his salt water aquariums, experimenting with focus and light to get the perfect image—so although the madly radiant colours and mesmerising textures make the photos seem like digital renderings, each one depicts real coral. Many people think coral just comes in various shades of pink, but in fact, the plant-like marine life comes in a myriad of subclasses. They boast a resplendent spectrum of vibrant colour and beautiful textures, from bead-like polyps to blooming, flower-like bouquets. -- source link
