ahencyclopedia:EMPIRE OF COLOUR - FROM POMPEII TO SOUTHERN GAUL: Exhibition at Toulouse, France OUR contributor, Carole, travelled to Toulouse, France to visit the exhibition on Roman frescoes being held at the Musee Saint-Raymond museum. The exhibition is called ‘Empire of Colour - From Pompeii to Southern Gaul’. The majority of the frescoes were found in Campania and have been largely preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. This major exhibtion is showcasing 79 works of art and aims to show the evolution of Roman painting in Southern Gaul, by bringing them face-to-face with Italian models, particularly by showing the four Pompeian styles. Please Click Here To See More Photos And Find Out More About The Exhibition **ALL photos taken by Carole Raddato/Following Hadrian.
