rdjinspiringlybeautiful:imjustheretolurk:natasharedledger:radiophile:Was he married?#it just really gets to me how tony will go out of his way to hide his kindness #he offers the most extravagant things like it’s nbd #”i’ll fly you to portland pfft whatevs” #he jokes that phil’s first name is ”agent” and yet #he knows about the cellist #and wants phil to have a love life #and offers to fly him wherever so he can have it #and then pretends he’s not sure when steve asks him #because god forbid anyone finds out that tony stark gives a shit ((I think my soul just died.))tony is a genius who probably has millions of thoughts firing through his head all day long. he’s so far ahead of everyone else that it’s hard for him to interact on a normal level. here he is completely and utterly focused on the tesseract, probably trying to find out how and when and why it work, but he hears a passing comment by phil about this cellist and probably without thinking stores it away in his brain - and to everyone else, remembering whether or not someone has a significant other is usually kind of important. it’s a social convention ‘normal’ people adhere to (which is shown with pepper there asking about it) but for tony to remember is a big fucking deal. asking about someone’s love life is not something he normally thinks about; he’s got hundreds of designs and schematics running through his head at any given moment. so many ideas that he just wants to make all the time. however, tony catches on this little tidbit, stores it in his massive brain, and not only recalls it later, but tries to help.**All this and:It wasn’t the offer to fly Coulson to Portland that got me, it wasn’t even the way Tony looked shattered when Fury was talking to him and Steve, or even Tony’s face when his eyes snagged on the blood in the room, it was the scene with him and Loki when he says “And there was someone else you pissed off. His name was Phil.”Because even though no-one else mentions him, Tony doesn’t forget.** -- source link
