lamardeuse:whattarush:THIS SCENE ACTUALLY HAPPENED I think I’ve watched gifs of Buck’s ridiculous forearms wrapped around Christopher about a thousand times in the last day and a half, and the thing is, the thing is - if you can concentrate on the firefighters and 911 operators rather than the copaganda, this show is about community and found family, it’s about people coming together and caring for one another, and one aspect of that caring that features again and again is the utilization of literal muscle and physical strength in achieving that. The fact that they insist all these guys weight train so that they can do a lot of the stuff that actual firefighters do - it not only lends authenticity to the show and makes them look pretty, but also provides these powerful images and examples of (largely) male physical power used to heal, to help, to show affection, and those are images and examples that resonate beyond the superficial gloss of a high concept weewoo show. -- source link
