dracofidus:I’m not a gamer, but Dragon Age has had such an impact on my life.Same sentiment applies for other groups of people who havent gotten much attention in popular media. PoC, (especially WoC), disabled people, other members of the LGBTQIA acronym, etc. REPRESENTATION MATTERS. It matters for ALL OF US. Just try to imagine growing up, living your whole life, never seeing anyone like you in anything. Now imagine how others would treat you if you are always invisible, or…shoved into evil roles. Apathetic at best, malicious at worst. People think arguing about video games or comics or movies is frivolous…But like water through a canyon…our stories shape our societal attitudes…for better or worse…Representation matters for the marginalized to be proud of themselves, to be validated….Representation matters for the rest of us to evolve into a civilized, decent, compassionate society. -- source link
