cabooceratops:tharook:tharook:Icicle Bob has travelled a long way to pursue his dream of selling ice cream and other frozen treats to small human children. He can’t drive, though, so Jo helps him out.I find myself in a conundrum, Tumblr. LEGO have recently released the set Emma’s Ice Cream Truck for their Juniors line, which includes this truck:As a Juniors set, this contains no stickers, so that panel with ice cream prices is a printed piece. I want this panel, for I have long lamented that Bob’s ice cream van has no list of delicious treats (and I hate stickers). Now I could just source those panels alone—and a tile also included in the set that includes an attractive ice cream illustrations—but the truck also includes that pink chassis. It’s a Juniors set, so that’s all one piece, and here comes my dilemma. That chassis is perfect for Bob’s van. There’s no way around it. It is only one stud longer than the van currently is, and those wheel arches are better than anything you can get on normal Lego pieces (even if the wheels they’re for are larger than you might expect of an ice cream van; presumably this is for off-road ice creams). It is, however, one piece and so I can’t do anything with it other than what it’s intended for (so I’m stuck with all the side-studs included, and can add no more) and it feels a bit like cheating. But, if it would make Bob’s ice cream van better in many ways, wouldn’t it be more childish not to use it?Just personal preference speaking here, but I probably wouldn’t buy a big hunkachunk piece like that. Not really my style. You do what works for you though.Well that’s exactly what I’m trying to decide. I don’t like the thought of using such a large single piece in principle, but when it matches so well the build I had anyway but with better wheel arches I am more conflicted. -- source link
