VoterVOX is an app that takes on the giant issue of language access in the political system by matching up bilingual volunteers with Limited English Proficient people. Imagine this: you’re from East San Jose, speak fluent English and Vietnamese, and believe your community should have a voice to make their opinion heard. Getting the VoterVOX app connects you to a person that a local community partners identifies as needing assistance. You meet at a library, share stories, and translate ballot terms and jargon. After you say goodbye to your new friend, they send their mail-in ballot themselves (because that is the law).
