sagansense: In between “life” I’ve been putting Wacom’s Paper app on my iPad to use, at the expense of my Bamboo Stylus, in which the pen nib ripped halfway through this composition. This isn’t my first (nor my last) dedicated Paper set, but it is the first I’ve done solely dedicated to one concentrated ‘series’. In sequence, you have: 1) Our home star, the sun, with transiting Mercury. 2) The enigmatic Venus, our “sister” planet. 3) “Spaceship Earth” or Gaia, and our Moon, orbiting. 4) The Red Planet, Mars, paired with lumpy Phobos and our closest star shining in the foreground. 5) Saturn (sans rings, not visible from the angle I used) and transiting Enceladus; its geysers caught spewing its icy guts. 6) Jupiter, with a transiting Europa. 7) Uranus, showing it’s icy rings. 8) Neptune, with it’s orbiting icy particles as well. 9) Lastly, I couldn’t help myself. In light of all the sci-fi excitement of ‘Interstellar’ reflecting upon ’2001: A Space Odyssey’ paired with NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft en route to the realm of the dwarf planets and beyond (since we still haven’t actually seen the surface of the once dubbed “Planet X”), this is the only piece of work in this series with a title. It’s called “Meanwhile, on Pluto…” This small collection of work is dedicated to the “Science Side of Tumblr”, the SciNote team, the two stars in my life which help me to navigate - my son, Landen and my fiance, Melissa (lawngirl) - and for intellectual fuel that perpetuates my curiosity: Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Richard Feynman, Lawrence Krauss, Bill Nye, and Brian Cox.
