The Nock Volley Gun,Invented by engineer James Wilson and produced by the firm of Henry Nock in London, the Nock gun was a seven shot volley gun produced during the Napoleonic Wars. By volley gun, this means that it fired all of its seven .52 caliber barrels simultaneously with the working of its flintlock mechanism. Originally it was intended for use by the British Royal Navy, with sailors firing it from the riggings and creating murderous volleys which would clear the deck of an enemy ship or repeal a boarding party. The Nock Gun had one major flaw however, the recoil of its seven barrels was incredible, and few could handle it with some even being injured. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to load and clean the firearm as well. Only 635 Nock Guns were purchased by the Royal Navy. -- source link
