panharmonium:Little things about TPM that I absolutely love: the fact that in this scene, Obi-Wan turns around first.Obi-Wan turns first. It’s not Anakin prompting him, asking for a commitment, asking for reassurance. Anakin is uncertain and sad and lonely and afraid as heck - of course he doesn’t feel comfortable enough to approach, to ask, to make a move. Obi-Wan does the reaching. And I LOVE that fact, I love it for what it says about him; that he is going to do right by this child, if it’s the last thing he does, if it kills him. Not after the funeral is over. Not tomorrow. Not after he gets himself together. Now. Right fucking now.The moment he decides to turn is the moment he assumes responsibility. Nobody makes him do it. No one tells him to turn around; he doesn’t have to address the child - the Council isn’t going to prompt him; Anakin isn’t going to say a word - but Obi-Wan, in the grip of what is always going to be one of the worst moments of his life, pushes forward and lashes himself together and says now, right now, NOW, and does it anyway. I will never not see that as a colossal act of courage. -- source link
