Yesterday we went on a hiking adventure with Mona’s brother, Simon! We hiked for over 9 miles and 5 hours, with an elevation gain of 1,200 ft. This hike involves multiple creek crossings and a few minor rock scrambles. The return leg was by far one of the most gorgeous trails we’ve done so far.We regularly hike but this was our longest one yet and I’m really proud of how well all three pups did! The boys have really great recall and stayed off leash for most of the hike! Mona was on leash more often because she has a strong chase instinct and would totally zoom after any woodland creature if we saw any, so we erred on the side of caution with her. This video was probably the 5th creek crossing we did. The pups did all the crossings by themselves! The water level was low (not higher than our boots) enough for our low riders to cross safely.Almost every hiker/backpacker we met either 1) made a joke about their short legs and/or 2) didn’t believe how the pups were able to do this hike. One person didn’t think they would be able to cross these 3 in. high creeks! This just goes to show that you shouldn’t judge or underestimate someone’s ability (dog or human) based on their appearance. Corgis may be popular on social media but never forget that they’re a herding breed, not fashion accessories. They are more than capable of all of life’s adventures!#Drewbert #Hikebert #ItsMonaTime #ToFord https://www.instagram.com/p/B4H2X_egIlb/?igshid=1hjns47ojo2mn -- source link
